Building Credibility Quotient

To be a successful leader we need to ensure our credibility is built the right way. Let us look at some examples:

Accept that “You Don’t Know”:
✅ Successful leaders are best when it comes to learning. Have an open mind to learn new things and it is ok to say that “You Don’t Know”. You are not expected to know everything that goes on in your project/program. In fact, accepting that “You Don’t know” the first step to learning new concepts and be seen by your team as an avid performer
Being Consistent:
✅ Build consistency into your habits—whether it’s showing up on time or sticking to deadlines. This develops sense of accountability among your team members
Develop Transparency:
✅ Be transparent in your communication with team members is the best way to earn their trust. Your team will learn to be honest at work only if you reciprocate the same behavior
Get Hands-On when need arises:
✅ It is good to guide your team, but it is also important that you get your hands dirty and do the troubleshooting sometimes to show “Been there Done that!!”
Own your mistakes:
✅ Excuses that you give as a leader does not show good on your personality. Be ready to own your mistakes and show the team that “To Err is Human” and we can still make a course correction as needed
Be Open:
✅ As a leader be open for feedback and the more you listen the team starts feeling comfortable to share ideas/innovations/suggestions. Just take care that you convert any complaints to positive insights for your team.

So good luck for building the credibility quotient!! 😊
