Have you ever wondered how to assess if your team members are really
motivated at work? It is indeed sometimes difficult to read one’s mind but their behaviour and body
language can reveal a lot about what is going on inside them!
Which members of your team are actively disengaged?
Well, these are defined as employees who are unhappy at work and busy acting out their unhappiness.
Which members of your team are not engaged?
These are defined as employees who are less likely to invest discretionary effort in organizational
outcomes or goals even though they are not unhappy!
Which members of your team are engaged?
These are defined as employees who are psychologically committed to their jobs and aim to make
positive contributions to their organizations
Well now there is a direct correlation between performance and the motivation levels the team
members have as is shown in the graph below that shows the difference
So, it is extremely important that you watch out for the behaviour and early signs to ensure that at
least majority of the team members feel motivated and do some course corrections often to avoid poor
performance and reduced output from your team members.
